Cade challenges western standards of wellness through a practice of body play that is performative, medical, erotic, poetic, and transgender

Of Brazilian origin, Cade immigrated to LA in 2010 to attend Otis College of Art & Design where they earned a bachelors in Fine Arts/New Genres

Between 2011-2016 Cade gained notoriety under the name Carol Seleme, a cis glamour model who performed exotic/latin femininity

Carol appeared in music videos for artists like Nikki Minaj and Chris Brown, posed for men’s magazines like Smooth and Spicy, and was repeatedly hired for soft-core male gaze photo shoots

In 2017 Carol changed their name to Cade

As a means to deconstruct their stereotyped identity, Cade dove into an exploration of trans-masculinity through performance, body modification, poetry, sculpture, and erotic video-documentation

In 2018 Cade published Xenomaskuline Manifesto, a humorous and neurotic memoir which he delivered verbally at multiple occasions including Hard to Read at The Standard

Cade continues to probe queerness and post-internet intimacy in his personal and collaborative projects

Cade has performed, shown art-work, and participated in discussion panels at REDCAT, Broad Art Center, The Standard, Soho House, Navel, Coaxial Arts Foundation, Complex, The Lash, Non Plus Ultra, Tempt Fest, California Institute of Abnormal Arts, Nous Tous Gallery, Bolski Gallery, Paul Williams Gallery, Post Gallery, Clube Curitibano (Brazil)
